| Bob Cantu – Band Director and Cornet Dr. Cantu has been a neurosurgeon and sports medicine physician in Concord for the past 40 years with extensive research, writings and lecturing in the area of head and spine injuries in athletes, especially concussion.
He has played the trumpet since grammar school and finds music, especially jazz, to be a therapeutic stress reliever. He currently plays cornet in the Yankee Stompers Jazz Band and he has formed the Colonial Jazz band out of an appreciation and enjoyment for playing pop, swing and jazz outside of the traditional Dixieland format.
Charlie Koch – Guitar and Vocals Charlie has been a horseback riding instructor, and more recently a tennis instructor in Concord for many years. Growing up in a musical family, he started playing the guitar as a twelve year old. A lover of many styles of music, Charlie also sings and plays guitar in his dance band - 'Breaktime.'
Lee Mapletoft – Bass Lee is the Colonial Jazz bass player and has played both string bass and tuba since his youth. Since his retirement from a career in the specialty chemicals business, one of his objectives has been to play more music. He has been fortunate to join four groups that play Dixieland jazz, swing, and easy listening music for a variety of audiences. Also, he frequently is part of the orchestra for Theatre III in Acton.
In addition to his musical activity, another major interest in retirement has been the Household Good Recycling Ministry in Acton which provides used household goods to the needy at no charge. It has been a very rewarding activity helping the less fortunate while protecting the environment by recycling usable goods.
Robin Switzer – Drums Robin is a Human Resources professional, currently serving as the Director of HR Systems and Operations at Northeastern University.
He has played the drums since the age of ten. Robin was the drummer for a competition jazz band and also served as percussion group leader for a drum and bugle style marching band. He enjoys playing jazz, pop, and swing and currently plays with the Colonial Jazz band.
Jim White – Piano Jim is a lawyer and real estate investor. He began playing piano as a child and as an adult has studied both jazz and classical music. In addition to playing with the Colonial Jazz band, he plays with other groups at private, community, and charitable events throughout the greater Boston area.
